About Us
At Middelburg Care Village, we believe that while we cannot change every circumstance, we can change a child’s life, one act of care, one safe home, one loving community at a time.
Our Purpose
At Middelburg Care Village, our purpose is to create a safe, loving, and nurturing environment where every child can grow, heal, and discover their God-given potential. We strive to ensure that each child leaves our care with Christ in their heart, a sense of belonging, and hope for a meaningful future.
Our work is guided by a deep commitment to the children entrusted to us. We believe in working together as a dedicated team, creating a home where children feel valued, protected, and supported every day. Through open and honest relationships, we foster trust, mutual respect, and a culture where growth is encouraged, even when conversations are challenging.
We recognise that every child is unique. By understanding their individual needs, experiences, and strengths, we treat each child with dignity and compassion, helping them develop confidence and self-worth. We take pride in the care we provide and in the responsibility we carry as role models and caregivers.
Above all, we act with integrity. Every decision we make is rooted in what is best for the children, ensuring that they are equipped with the skills, resilience, and motivation needed to become self-sustaining, productive individuals who can make positive contributions to their communities.
Challenges – Children
At Middelburg Care Village, some of the greatest obstacles we face are woven into the very lives and past experiences of the children we welcome into our care. These are not just organizational challenges. They are human ones. Many children come from environments of deep poverty, uncertainty, and instability, carrying experiences no child should have to endure.

From Scarcity to Security, Healing, and Hope
Many children come from environments of deep poverty where food was uncertain. It takes time and gentle reassurance for them to trust that they will receive three nourishing meals a day. Learning that hunger is no longer a daily fear is often the first step toward restoring a sense of safety.
Many of our children arrive carrying the emotional scars of neglect, abuse, or abandonment. Without the foundation of a stable, loving family, they have been forced to navigate life far too soon. We work every day to help them feel loved, heard, and safe so they can begin to believe that their life has value.
Survival should not be a child’s only goal. Our work is to help children reimagine their lives, to grow, explore, create, and dream again. Education plays a critical role, yet many arrive years behind in school and lacking confidence. Without tailored support, they risk falling through the cracks.
With the right care, the right support, and a lot of heart, we believe these children can rewrite their stories and build hopeful futures.
The Financial Reality Behind the Care
Caring for vulnerable children requires consistency, planning, and long term commitment. While our mission is rooted in love and purpose, the reality is that every aspect of care comes at a cost. Transparency helps our supporters understand both the challenge and the need.
