Why Do We Exist?
Middelburg Care Village exists to provide a safe, loving home for children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and trauma, and to walk with them as they heal, grow, and discover their potential. We believe every child deserves dignity, stability, and the opportunity to build a meaningful future. Through care, faith, education, and long term support, we work to ensure that each child leaves our care equipped to live independently and contribute positively to their community.
Support Our Children
Every child at Middelburg Care Village carries a story shaped by hardship, yet each one also holds a future filled with possibility. Your support helps provide the daily essentials that make healing and growth possible, including nourishment, education, emotional care and a safe place to belong. When you give, you become part of the hope that steadies a child, the encouragement that helps them dream again and the love that reminds them that their life has value. Together we can make a real and lasting difference in the life of a child who needs it most.
Our Children. Our Home. Our Hope.
At Middelburg Care Village, every child becomes part of a family that believes in their worth and their future. Our home is a place of safety where children can rest, rebuild trust and experience the stability that allows hope to grow. Through consistent care, encouragement and community, we help each child discover their strengths and imagine a life filled with possibility. This is more than a place to stay. It is a home where hearts heal, confidence returns and hope becomes real.

The Starfish Story
Once upon a time, an old man walked on the beach every morning before starting his writing. One day, after a big storm, he found the shoreline covered with starfish as far as he could see.
As he walked, he noticed a young boy in the distance. The boy stopped every few steps, bent down, picked up something and threw it into the sea. Curious, the old man approached him.
“Good morning,” he called out. “May I ask what you are doing?”
The boy looked up and said, “I am throwing starfish into the ocean. The tide has washed them up, and they cannot return to the water by themselves. When the sun gets high, they will dry out and die unless I help them.”
The old man frowned. “But there are thousands of starfish on this beach. You cannot possibly make a difference.”
The boy bent down, picked up another starfish and threw it into the ocean. Then he smiled and said, “It made a difference to that one.”
The Starfish Story reminds us that our actions, no matter how small they seem, can change a life. We do not need to save the whole world. We only need to make a difference one child, one moment, one act of care at a time.

How do children come into your care?
All children are placed with us through a court order. They come from situations involving neglect, abuse, abandonment or unsafe home environments. We provide a safe, stable home where they can heal, grow and rebuild their future.
What does my donation support?
Your donation helps cover daily essentials such as food, clothing, schooling, therapy, transport and caregiver salaries. It also supports long-term needs like building new homes, education programs and skills development.
Can I visit the Care Village or volunteer?
Yes, visits and volunteering are welcome, but coordinated in advance to protect the privacy and wellbeing of our children. If you’d like to get involved, we’ll guide you through the simple steps to schedule a visit or join our volunteer team.
